Private mode

Private when you want it.

A blockchain is public by design. Morsel gives you separate tools for the moments when you would rather not share: one for sends, one for apps, one for the screen.

The basics

What is public on a blockchain

Every transfer is visible to everyone: which address paid which, how much, and when. That openness is what makes a chain trustworthy. It also means a payment can show the person you pay your whole balance.

  1. 01

    Addresses are public

Anyone with your address can look up everything it holds and everything it did.

  2. 02

A private send breaks the direct line

The recipient is paid by a Morsel payout wallet, not by your address.

  3. 03

    Private Mode separates apps

Apps connect to your private wallet, so they never see your main one.

  4. 04

    Hidden Balances covers the screen

For the person next to you on the train. It changes nothing on chain.

Private send

Pay someone without showing your address.

On a Cookie Chain send, choose Private on the review. Your payment goes to a one-time address, and a Morsel payout wallet pays the recipient with the next private batch, a few minutes later. The Private Route fee, currently 2%, is shown before you confirm. Amounts and times stay public.

Private Mode

A private wallet for apps.

Turn on Private Mode and apps connect to your private wallet, never to your main one. Fund it privately, so there is no direct transfer between the two, and keep only what you need in it. Want sites to see a fresh address? Start a new private wallet.

Hidden Balances

Tap to hide every number.

Tap your balance on the home screen, or use Hide balances in Settings, and every amount is masked across tokens, positions and activity. Tap again to show them.

Hidden Balances on, with amounts replaced by dots
  • Private send

Paid by a Morsel payout wallet, not yours.

  • Private Mode

Apps only ever meet your private wallet.

  • Hidden Balances

    One tap masks every amount.

  • Self-custody throughout

Your keys never leave your device.

Questions

Is Hidden Balances the same as Private Mode?

No. Hidden Balances only masks numbers on your screen. Private Mode changes which wallet apps connect to. They work independently.

Where does private send work?

On Cookie Chain. Choose Private on the review of a send, and the fee and timing are shown before you confirm.

Does a private send make a payment anonymous?

It removes the direct transfer from your address to the recipient. Amounts and times are still public on chain, and it does not hide that you used the Private Route. Think of it as more private, not invisible.
